We would visit the amazing sites offered in many travel destinations, but we also learned that a stroll, bike, hike, drive, boat ride, or train to a place less traveled always offered a timeless connection travelers often miss. We learned that asking for the local dish, asking locals where they vacation, helping a Frenchman in Normandy with his horses, sitting down with an Italian olive grower, or being escorted around Budapest by a Hungarian friend, that once you immerse yourself into your travel adventure, you find the purpose of travel.
